BASIC INTERVIEW OUTLINE:

The point of an interview is to find out what is interesting about the other person.

ASSIGNMENT: Interview a classmate as a possible (character, conflict, etc.) for a piece

Beginning Questions: simple question easing into the interview

What’s your name?
Where do you live?
Who are your parents?
Other family members?
What are your hobbies?

Starter Questions: deeper questions getting a feel for the person

Do you get along well with…?

Who do you admire the most?

Who is your best friend?


Follow-up Questions: probing questions stemming from starter questions

Tell me about your relationship with…?

What do you think about…?


Kicker Question: detail questions prodding to the heart of the matter

HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL?
